Amy Herrington, OD​
​
Originally from Charleston, SC, Dr. Herrington is a graduate of Furman University. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama Birmingham School of Optometry in 1989. After twenty seven years working with Jack Schaeffer, OD and three with MyEyeDr, she opened Altadena Eye Care in 2020.​​​​
Dr. Herrington provides comprehensive eye care, including contact lenses, managing diseases of the eye, and dry eye therapy.
Dr. Herrington is also certified for using contact lenses in the management of myopia in children.

Dr Herrington is married to architect Bruce Herrington and they have two adult children. Having been a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church for over thirty five years, she has served in many capacities. Most recently she is serving on the Global Ministry Team and the Christian Medical Ministry of Alabama board.

When not in the office, she enjoys gardening and being with family.
Jason Martin,
Office Manager and Optician

With twenty-five years of experience in high-end optical and optometric management, Jason has fostered relationships with the most advanced lens companies with the best optical labs as well as assembled and curated collections of the finest quality hand-made eyewear available.
Jason and Dr. Herrington have worked together for over fifteen years. In 2020, they established a patient-focused practice designed to synergize her deep knowledge of your eyes and your ocular health with Jason's extensive and seasoned optical experience.

Jason has managed practices in San Francisco and Birmingham and is married to designer Miranda Rodgers Martin. In his free time, he loves the hunt for vintage records, editing his photography, cooking a delicious meal, reading, and travel.
Tait Grant,
Patient Services and Optometric Technician

Tait is a native of Vestavia Hills and has deep roots in the community. Having graduated Mississippi State University, she returned to Vestavia and joined our practice in 2024 as one of our most valuable team. Tait is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and is married to Drew Grant. Outside of work, she enjoys working out, taking walks outside, and hanging out with friends and family.
